Contrary to the popular belief that robots are cheaper than labor, that is actually not the number one driver of incorporating robots, the number one push for employers is a combination of the Safety of people that are repeating tasks for years and the Quality of the work. Humans need to be protected from heavy labor, it will wear and tear on our bodies to the point where we begin to cause damage to several thousand dollar products we are working on.

One of the best ways to start your career in robotics is to become an Entry Level Robotics Operator, there are thousands of openings for people who can operate a robot by selecting a program out of a directory, uploading it to the robot, loading any peripheral parts that the robot needs and watching over the robot to make sure everything looks okay

Teach Pendants are used to upload the Programs to the Robot, they Can also be used to create new programs.

The teach pendant is connected to the Controller, this is a large computer essentially that is full of automation equipment and transformers that allow the robot to receive all of the power, data, and connections that it needs!

The combination of Teach Pendant, Controller, Robot and the working area makes up to be the Robotics Cell. Which we will talk about a little more when we dive into Robotics Safety.

An Operator is a phenomenal entry job for you to get your feet wet in the industry, you have the perfect position between maintenance technicians, programmers, and engineers – earning a position like this will make sure you have all of the resources to grow into a larger Programmer or Engineer job, and there is no better time to start as an Operator than now – start racking up those years of experience!
